O’labumi Brown was born and raised in NYC', where she studied with Michel Marriott whose memoir workshops were legendary. brown a memoirist loves using metaphors to set a mood. her debut memoir Hairalujah traces the author’s journey of queer identity in the 80’s and steps through allegory’s shadow to tell a story of the lessons she’s learned and how she rose from the rubble.
